School Failsafe plugs into the email you already use. You connect the inbox you already use; we handle the messy parsing so you get short, trustworthy reminders.
Four simple steps
Set up your family & phone
In our simple onboarding wizard, you'll:
- •Add your kids and pick their schools from our national directory (99,000+ schools)
- •Optionally enable SMS reminders for your mobile number
- •Connect your inbox (secure OAuth)
Takes about 2 minutes. Must be 18+ (parent/guardian only).
Connect your inbox
Connect Gmail via OAuth with read-only access. We automatically detect and process school messages. Outlook support is coming soon — contact support if you need it earlier.
You can disconnect or revoke access at any time in your email provider or account settings.
Our pipeline extracts "Actions"
What we do (you don't see this):
- •Emails are synced securely from your connected inbox via your provider (e.g., Gmail API)
- •A redaction service strips personal data (names, IDs, contacts) before AI processing
- •A constrained AI model extracts minimal "actions" like dates, deadlines, and must-do items
- •School-specific rules improve accuracy over time

Prefer email? You can receive email digests instead of texts in your account settings.
What you don't see (on purpose)
We don't store raw email bodies long-term. Redaction and extraction happen on sanitized text, and we keep only the minimal Action record needed for your reminders and history.

No raw email storage

Schools & Privacy
Common questions about schools, FERPA, and data
Does School Failsafe have a direct relationship with my school?
No. School Failsafe works directly with you, the parent. We don't receive data from schools or districts — you choose which inbox to connect and what we monitor. Schools don't need to do anything for you to use School Failsafe.
How does this interact with FERPA?
FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) governs how schools handle student records. Your FERPA rights apply to your relationship with the school. When you connect your inbox, you authorize us to process information the school already sent to you as the parent. We treat all school-related content as highly sensitive and apply strong privacy safeguards.
What if my school or district wants to use School Failsafe officially?
We're open to working with schools and districts under formal data-sharing agreements. If your school is interested, have them reach out to us at stephen@dolife-ai.com. We can discuss appropriate data protection agreements.
What about my children's privacy?
We take children's privacy very seriously. Children don't use our service — only adult parents/guardians do. We strip personal details (names, IDs) before AI processing, don't store raw emails long-term, and never use your data for training by default. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
